Damn real life.
I have too many things I need to finish up - too many projects and I feel like trapped in some of them. For example, our house. We got new windows 2 months ago - which is great seeing we now (hopefully) won't have to freeze in the winter ... BUT we have to renovate the wood around them at the inside - which means first abrade the wood and then paint it. It takes a hell of a time just to remove the old paint and it's dusty - which is kind of shitty when you're allergic towards dust ...
Anyway, at that same time we figured to replace the kitchen ... by ourselves of course. Not that we have any knowledge about how to do it (we're both geeks here) but hey, IKEA, how difficult can it be?
It wasn't at all - except we didn't buy any kitchen tables yet. I had this vision about some very dark rain forrest tree (wange or something) which would cost the roof of a house - but we kind of had to find another solution (because it would cost the roof of a house) and figured to do that as the very last thing in the kitchen... FIRST let's get the electrician here to fix our new kitchen lights!
The electrician was very silent while he took pictures, made holes in the cieling ... called his boss and whispered, took more pictures. We where standing in the corner with totally frozen smiles, not quite sure what was going on. So we did know that a former owner of this old house from 1920 has been very creative when it comes to do stuff in the house all by himself (we did curse him from time to time already because of a shit job around) - but that he also managed to pull all the electricity by himself was new to us. Everything he made was illegal.
*Bad news, you have to call your ensurance. You ARE ensured, right?*... YES - and we got the extended buyer ensurance when we bought the house 3 years ago. Thank Lootius for that. It took the ensurance a month to come back to us - while our half done kitchen laughed at us - having a party with all the electrical wires hanging out from the walls - two lofts pulled down - absolutely DUSTY! But luckily the ensurance accepted the case.
Now the electricians made more holes in our walls, pulled out everything. Not until yesterday did we get light back in the bathroom (after a month). It looks like 3rd world war has been taking place in our house. The only spot where I feel a little 'safe' is in our small office where we - back to back - sit in front of our computers and work!
Damn real life.
I wanted to create so many games becaue I have so many ideas - but all the time something else steps in front of it. Now I'm working on my game magazine (www.entropiatimes.com) - it needs to be done and published the 12th of June - and will be absolutely AWESOME. I love making the magazine - it's a not-paid hobby like the forums - but it fills up most of my life. Like the game does it. I make a new magazine every 3rd month, but the preparation takes so much TIME.
Damn real life.
I am at a point in life where I need to make some large decissions - but I can't pull it over the edge. There are way too many things depended on a fixed monthly wage - and doing something indepenedent is just too insecure at this moment. My hope is to create THE thing, which will help me fullfill my dreams. Helping fullfill my dreams would hopefully help my husband to, to fullfill his, and it would be a fullfilled circle of power.
Damn real life. Damn too less hours a day. Damn no money ha ha
Have fun :)
